Charlton Athletic vs Nottingham Forest

Charlton Athletic vs Nottingham Forest : Ante-post relegation favourites Charlton twice came from behind to salvage a point at Barnsley in a hard-fought Saturday showdown at Oakwell. A 90th-minute penalty from Lyle Taylor helped the Addicks maintain their unbeaten start to the season following promotion after Conor Gallagher had earlier levelled proceedings before half-time.

Charlton Athletic vs Nottingham Forest Live

Athletic spurned good early chances, with Ben Purrington firing wide from close range before Jonny Williams and Josh Cullen went close as the visitors applied plenty of pressure in the opening 45 minutes. However, Charlton soon fell behind against the run of play and the capital club were forced to dig deep in their efforts for a route back into the contest.

Competition: Championship Date: Wednesday 21st August 2019 Venue: The Valley Kick-Off: 19:45 BST Referee: Oliver Langford

Team News
Forest blew Birmingham City out of the water on Saturday to claim their first Championship win of the season.

On that basis, changes will probably be unlikely. The nature of the performance should dictate the same starting eleven.

It ensured a first league win of the season and Lamouchi will hope to earn his first win on the road as soon as possible.

With promotion hopefuls, Fulham on the agenda for Saturday, the game with Charlton will represent a tough, albeit winnable, test for the Reds.

Fulham vs Millwall

Fulham vs Millwall : 2019-20 Championship – Fulham vs Millwall Preview & Prediction. Millwall manager Neil Harris knows his side will be up against a team “with a lot of Premier League qualities” when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Fulham vs Millwall- LIVE TV

The Lions have made a strong unbeaten start to the new campaign, but Harris is under no illusions about the size of the task they face against Scott Parker’s men.

“What a game this is – a London derby, we’re in great form and up against a brilliant Fulham side,” Harris said on his club’s official website.

“Fulham have improved since their opening day defeat at Barnsley, and we have seven points from three games along with a (League) Cup victory. We’re facing a team with a lot of Premier League qualities in it.”

Harris had previously said it would be a “travesty” if Fulham were not to be promoted and he explained that comment was meant as a reflection on the quality of players they have at their disposal.

MILLWALL boss Neil Harris has promised his side will be “tough and aggressive” as they aim to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they travel to Fulham on Wednesday evening.

Harris said the Lions wouldn’t change their approach in west London against Scott Parker’s side.

Aleksander Mitrovic was roundly criticised for feigning injury at Huddersfield last Friday. The striker clutched his face in an attempt to get Rajiv van La Parra sent off in Fulham’s 2-1 win but he escaped sanction.

Fulham are still adapting to life back in the Championship and come into this fixture five days on from a clash with fellow newly-relegated side Huddersfield.

Scott Parker’s men are tasked with bouncing straight back into the Premier League this season but an opening-day loss at Barnsley exposed issues in his squad.

Broncos vs 49ers

Broncos vs 49ers : Monday Night Football’s preseason matchup this week will see the Denver Broncos host the San Francisco 49ers. It’s a chance for America to see some of the teams’ starters play a bit longer, as it’s the third preseason game for the Broncos and the second for the Niners.

Broncos vs 49ers Live TV

The Niners are coming off a 4-12 season that was riddled with injuries to key players and ended the season in third place in the NFC West. The Broncos went 6-10 to finish third in the AFC West, well off the pace of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers. Each team will take the next step in their 2019 season preparations in front of a national TV audience, but this season is not expected to end with either going to the playoffs.

The 49ers’ defense put on a show in their pair of joint practices with the Broncos prior to their second preseason game. This comes on the heels of a preseason opener where the 49ers’ second unit held the Cowboys starters out of the end zone, and limited them to field goals in a 17-9 victory.

Now the defense gets some starters back as the team begins intensive preparations for the regular season. They need a significant turnaround on that side of the ball, so plenty of eyes will be watching to see if they can remain consistent in their quality preseason performances.

There is some hyperbole there, but it does feel that way in regards to the Denver Broncos (just ask the media covering it). We are, however, getting closer to the regular season with Monday’s night preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Saturday concluded the two days of joint practices between the teams, and now it’s on to the third preseason game that is really the second. On the MHR Radio Podcast (ApplePodcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher), Adam Malnati and I went over what and who to look for on Monday night at Mile High.

Before we get to what the MHR staff wants to see, here’s the preseason history between the Broncos and San Francisco. In the regular season, this is where you will see the offensive and defensive rankings/stats for both teams. I might carry over this brief history for the regular season as well.
After keeping 31 players out of their exhibition opener, the 49ers will allow cameo appearances for their mainstays against the Broncos, who already served a greater purpose hosting the 49ers for joint practices Friday and Saturday.

Here are five questions needing answers:

How much does Garoppolo need to play?
It’s been 11 months since 49ers fans last saw Garoppolo in uniform, and he’s right on track to return from surgery on the anterior cruicate ligament in his left knee.

“He’s had a really good camp,” general manager John Lynch said. “I’m hesitant and reluctant to say it but his recovery from his knee has been like flawless. … That’s allowed him to focus on what he needs to do, and that’s play.”

Denver vs San Francisco – Live

Join us to get in-game insights and analysis Monday when the 49ers take on the Broncos in Denver at 5 p.m. as they play their second of four preseason games.

The 49ers lost all of their road games a year ago and would certainly like to reverse that trend, even if it’s first road game is just a practice game.

Jimmy Garoppolo is expected to make his preseason debut after sitting out the 49ers’ victory over the Cowboys last week. However, the 49ers quarterback won’t see much action as he returns to the field for the first time since suffering a season-ending torn ACL against the Chiefs last September.

He’ll play behind somewhat of a makeshift offensive line with projected starters like center Weston Richburg (quadriceps), right guard Mike Person (left foot injury) and right guard Joshua Garnett (right ring finger) sidelined.

Garoppolo, though, will get a chance to throw to a pair of impressive rookie wide receivers in Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd. Samuel had two catches for 61 yards in the 17-9 win over Dallas last Saturday, and Hurd caught a pair of TD passes.

The NFL 2019 season is gearing up for an explosive start with UK fans more hungry than ever for a helping of American Football action.

Four London games in 2019 will bring the carnival atmosphere to the UK, but fans will be desperate to soak up action from the first throw to the last.

49ers vs Broncos

49ers vs Broncos :  2019 National Football League There is just one preseason Monday Night Football game this year, and it concludes Week 2 as the Denver Broncos host the San Francisco 49ers. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. ET from Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver. It’s the first home game for new Broncos head coach Vic Fangio, a rare defensive-minded hire this offseason. Denver beat the Falcons in the Hall of Fame Game and fell by eight at Seattle last week. Meanwhile, it’s the first road game of the preseason for the 49ers. Denver is a 1.5-point favorite and the over-under for total points scored is 40.5 in the latest Broncos vs. 49ers odds. Before you make any 49ers vs. Broncos picks or any 2019 NFL preseason predictions of your own, you need to see what NFL expert R.J. White has to say.

White has been SportsLine’s top pro football analyst for two-plus seasons. Over that span, the CBS Sports NFL editor and nationally-recognized NFL Draft expert has gone 214-164 on NFL picks against the spread, returning more than $3,200 to $100 bettors.

White was all over the Patriots covering in the 2019 Super Bowl, nailing the year’s biggest sporting event for the legions that follow him. White said he wouldn’t trust Rams QB Jared Goff in a big spot, and Goff’s bumbling performance was key to New England’s 13-3 win.

The stats guru, whose picks are coveted by fans everywhere, has cashed huge in the world’s most prestigious handicapping tournament, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest, twice in the past four years, and anyone who has followed his lead has reaped huge rewards.

Now, White has locked in on Niners vs. Broncos on Monday night. We can tell you he’s leaning over, but his most confident pick is against the spread. He’s only sharing that pick at SportsLine.

White knows that in his first game in front of the home fans, Fangio, the former Chicago Bears defensive coordinator, will want to win this one more than any other preseason game. Don’t rule out the effect that playing in the thin air will have on the visiting 49ers either, as the Broncos players are used to the altitude from practices and training camp. Denver owns one of the best home-field advantages in the NFL simply because of the altitude.

San Francisco vs Denver

San Francisco vs Denver : The value of the joint practices with the 49ers is in seeing something new and learning how to adjust to it.

San Francisco vs Denver

San Francisco’s wide-nine defensive alignment and versatile linebacking corps caused problems for the Broncos offense during Friday’s practice. Running lanes were scarce. Downfield connections were rare. The 49ers’ intensity was also palpable, and three Denver giveaways resulted.

The 49ers’ 4-3 defense was a different look to begin with, but as quarterback Drew Lock noted, that was far from the only new wrinkle; the 49ers used more two-safety looks than the Broncos, with a scheme that emphasized more single-high-safety alignments.

“It’s really just kind of the exact opposite of what we normally see in practice, where that might have been a little of what was going on yesterday,” Lock said. “You don’t know what the Niners are going to play.”

When the Broncos’ offense and San Francisco’s defense brawled Saturday morning during their second joint practice, rookie quarterback Drew Lock chose discretion over valor.

“I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m a peacemaker, but I pick my fights wisely,” Lock said with a laugh.

Lock and the rest of the Broncos offense would be wise to take the fight to the 49ers in Monday night’s preseason game (6 p.m.). After a woeful Friday performance, the offense responded with action (more good plays) and words (out-chirping the chirpy 49ers).

A carry-over for Lock will allow him to take another step toward being Joe Flacco’s backup on Sept. 9 against Oakland.

Lock was 7-of-11 passing for 34 yards against Atlanta. The operation was clumsy and Lock’s throws inaccurate.

There are several connections between the Broncos and Niners starting with respective general managers, John Elway and John Lynch, and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and his dad, Mike.

The teams teamed up for two joint practices on Friday and Saturday at UCHealth Training Center in Englewood.

After Monday night’s game at Broncos Stadium, the Broncos will have two remaining preseason games on short rest – Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Los Angeles Rams and Thursday, Aug. 29 home against the Arizona Cardinals.

Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers : NFL preseason games usually have little importance, but the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 2 game against the Denver Broncos marks Jimmy Garoppolo’s return to game action. Here’s what to look for.

Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are on pace for a perfect season and over 10,000 penalty yards. At least, that’s what extending their preseason win versus the Dallas Cowboys last week over the course of a full season shows.

The point I’m making is that preseason results don’t mean anything. The games are glorified practices. However, there is something to be said for getting under the lights of an NFL game and feeling the pressure of fans and the media watching you.

The Denver Broncos (1-1) will host the San Francisco 49ers (1-0) in their third of five preseason games in 2019. They held two joint practice sessions at UCHealth Training Center on Friday and Saturday, with the latter session being fairly chippy with some fighting between the two teams.

Former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan was on hand this week with ties to both teams as his son Kyle is currently the head coach of the 49ers. He knows current head coach Vic Fangio quite well and his impressions of Fangio seem to align with the Fangio we’ve come to know throughout Broncos training camp.

The Denver Broncos are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers in preseason action on “Monday Night Football” this evening. Time is starting to run out for the players sitting on the team’s roster bubble.

Here are four guys that need to have a strong performance in this game in order to either keep their name on that bubble or start to move further from it and closer to the 53-man roster.

The San Francisco 49ers face the Denver Broncos tonight on Monday Night Football. We should see the starters for a few series, but there are still plenty of positional battles that need to work themselves out. Last week it was clear that Kyle Shanahan wanted to see Richie James and Kendrick Bourne. Who will it be tonight? Here are the top position battles to watch:

We have talked about so many position battles that are lower on the depth chart, but we still don’t know who the leading back on the team is, and we likely won’t until after next week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Having lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the Hall of Fame Game, the Broncos tasted defeat again in their second preseason game, going down 22-14 to the Seattle Seahawks in front of their fans.

San Francisco 49ers vs Denver Broncos Live streaming

If losing in preseason isn’t necessarily worrying, the number of penalties the Broncos have given away in the first two games will certainly be cause of concern for coach Vic Fangio.

Denver was flagged eight times against the Falcons and 15 times against the Seahawks, with 11 of those penalties being accepted. In his first season as head coach after leaving the role of defensive coordinator in Chicago, Fangio has a sizeable job on his hands as he looks to cut out the gratuitous mistakes that have cost his team valuable yards in their first two outings.

The 49ers have problems of their own after losing two players to injuries. Wide receiver Trent Taylor underwent surgery to fix a broken toe and will miss the remainder of preseason, while tackle Shon Coleman will be sidelined for the entire campaign with a broken fibula, as per The Athletic’s Matt Barrows. It is a tough blow for Coleman, who did not play last season.
